Learning and Engagement Assistant

Working closely with the Learning and Engagement Manager, the Learning and Engagement Assistant plays a key part in coordinating learning programmes, supporting engagement and wellbeing initiatives, and helping to deliver employee communications and recognition activity.
This is a delivery-focused role, responsible for supporting the smooth and consistent implementation of learning and engagement initiatives, ensuring a positive employee experience and effective coordination across the business. Regular on-site presence is required in the London office to support workshops, engagement activity and events.
Key Responsibilities
Learning & Development Support
Support the coordination and delivery of learning and development activity across the business, including workshops, training sessions and development programmes.
Assist with scheduling training, booking venues, coordinating materials and supporting facilitators.
Support the administration and ongoing management of learning management system (LMS), ensuring content is accurate, accessible and up to date.
Support the coordination and administration of apprenticeship and early careers learning activity.
Track attendance, completion and feedback for learning activity and maintain accurate learning records.
Support compliance and mandatory training activity, including monitoring completion and following up where required.
Induction & Onboarding Support
Support the delivery of the organisation’s induction and onboarding programme.
Coordinate induction sessions and learning activity for new starters, including scheduling, materials and logistics.
Maintain induction and onboarding content within the LMS, ensuring materials are accurate, up to date and values-aligned.
Track completion and feedback, escalating issues or insights to the Learning & Engagement Manager.
Work closely with the Recruitment Assistant and People Assistant to ensure a smooth handover from pre-start activity into induction.
Engagement, Wellbeing & EDI
Support the delivery of employee engagement, wellbeing and EDI initiatives, working to agreed plans and priorities.
Assist with the coordination of wellbeing campaigns, inclusion activity and awareness initiatives.
Support engagement surveys and feedback activity, including administration, coordination and collation of results where required.
Help maintain resources, toolkits and materials that support wellbeing and inclusive working practices.
Employee Communications & Recognition
Support the delivery of employee communications relating to learning, engagement, wellbeing and People initiatives, including events such as fireside chats.
Assist with preparing content for internal channels (e.g. lighthouse, email, presentations, newsletter).
Support employee recognition activity, including coordination of awards, celebrations and values-based recognition initiatives.
Help ensure communications are consistent, timely and aligned with JoJo’s culture and values.
Stakeholder & Team Collaboration
Work closely with the Learning and Engagement Manager to support priorities, timelines and delivery plans.
Liaise with managers, employees and external providers to coordinate learning and engagement activity.
Provide on-site support for learning sessions, engagement events and workshops as required.
Process & Administration
Maintain accurate records, trackers and documentation relating to learning, engagement and wellbeing activity.
Support reporting and tracking of activity and participation where required.
Contribute ideas to improve the delivery and effectiveness of learning and engagement initiatives.
Skills that make you shine:
Experience supporting learning, engagement or people-related activity in a People or L&D environment.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
Confident communicator with good attention to detail.
Comfortable coordinating logistics, scheduling and administration.
Experience using learning management systems (LMS) or similar platforms.
Confident using digital tools (e.g. Canva, Articulate Rise, LMS platforms)
Experience supporting engagement, wellbeing or inclusion initiatives.
Experience supporting internal communications or recognition activity.
(Desirable) CIPD Level 3 (or working towards) or equivalent experience.
Additional Requirements
Ability to work regularly from the London office to provide visible, on-site People support.
Willingness to travel occasionally to stores or other locations as required.
