Department: Merchandising

Reporting to: Head of Merchandising

We are looking for a Junior Merchandiser to join us! You'll have ownership of planning and trading the Maternity department and work closely with buying and design to deliver a commercially strong range across channels. You will play an integral part in managing stock across the business and delivering the company strategy with the purpose of maximising sales and profit whilst limiting risk.

A peek into your daily adventures:

Planning

• Create a commercially strong seasonal strategy for your dept, alongside Buying & Design, combining lessons learnt and driving future opportunities with a customer focussed mindset

• Provide seasonal plans and re-forecasts for the dept driven from sales history and company strategy

Trading / Operations

• Submit weekly sales, stock and margin performance relating to department

• Take ownership for in-season trading – analyse trading patterns working with Buying to optimise sales and margin

• Track and manage stock position, proposing and taking appropriate action to ensure we are moving stock as quickly as possible and preventing stock build up.

• Ensure optimum availability of continuity styles across all channels

• Manage allocation of stock across B2C and B2B, and monitor performance making amends where necessary to potentialise performance

• Manage department OTB - continually identifying risks/ opportunities to maintain flexibility and optimise performance.

• Manage markdown and promotional planning for product areas – strive to minimise markdown and drive profitability

• Manage the dept WSSI and ensure it reflects current strategy and trade

Skills that make you shine:

• Proven experience working as a Senior Assistant Merchandiser or Junior Merchandiser

• Experience managing a WSSI

• Strong-team player with a diligent work ethic

• Communicate clearly and effectively with other areas to gather information to make better informed decisions

• Proven numerate and analytical skills plus excellent verbal and written English.

• Be an efficient and reliable team member who can be responsible for their own work load.

• Build positive relationships within your own team and between other functions

• An ability to multitask and effectively prioritise workload
