Designer Kidswear (Maternity Cover)
Your role in the JoJo story…
Are you passionate about children's wear fashion and excited by the opportunity to create innovative, multi-product ranges?
If so, join our friendly and talented Design Team as a Kidswear Designer! This is a maternity cover position. Where you'll research, develop, and design multi-product collections. Collaborating with buying, you'll ensure a commercially balanced range that drives newness and protects core products. You'll also manage critical path deadlines to meet both personal and team targets.
A peek into your daily adventures
You'll design and develop a wide range of innovative kidswear, ensuring Jojo's signature style shines through.
You'll collaborate closely with the buying team, analysing ranges and making improvements while also mentoring junior team members.
Your understanding of garment construction, supply chain, and costing will help solve challenges, and you'll manage sample timelines by working effectively with international factories.
You'll ensure garment fit, safety, and technical standards, create detailed technical packs, and develop accessories, labels, and packaging.
Strong supplier relationships and sourcing strategies are key, along with knowledge of print, graphic design, and knitwear.
You'll also present collections to leadership and be mindful of copyright implications.
You'll take ownership of your design category, ensuring business goals are met through effective problem-solving.
You'll manage team systems, including product lifecycle software, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
With guidance from management, you'll support and train the junior team, helping to enhance performance.
You will be counted on for:
- The management of your design category in order to achieve the goals of the business.
- The management and accuracy of team systems and processes such as the in house product lifecycle software.
- Under the guidance from management; performance manage the team, providing training and support where necessary.
- Identifying new opportunities and new ways of working to enhance the team and the wider business.
We are looking for a special someone with:
- 5+ Years in a similar role at Designer level.
- Ability to effectively design multiple product categories.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Proven track record of designing and developing high quality, branded product in line with a brand identity.
- Exceptional team player, great communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work well with others and build strong relations with both internal colleagues and external vendors alike.
- In depth knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
- Experience managing junior members of a team.
- Fashion Design degree or Equivalent.

- Proven experience of producing new and innovative designs across multiple product categories, meeting face paced deadlines with a strong hit rate.
- Commercial and market awareness, ability to research newness and present back to the wider team.
- Excellent understanding of garment and fabric construction across woven, jersey and knit.
- Ability to produce accurate and informative tech packs that third party factories can easily interpret.
- Confident use of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator for CAD, Print and Graphics.
- Excellent knowledge in Microsoft packages.
- Ability to understand and interpret the Jojo brand effectively.
- Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent supplier management skills.
- Innovative and commercial thinking to support business efficiency, improvements and growth needs.
- Constructive management and mentoring skills – being a positive role model to the rest of the team.
- Highly organised with fantastic attention to detail
